Situation

The building’s representational strength is thus enhanced, relieved of the additions and transformations carried out over time with little regard for the intrinsic qualities of the building, which had lost much of its appeal as a result. The program developed for this operation positions the hotel in the “4-star +” category, making it an attractive product, adapted to modern urban constraints, offering 50 rooms and 2 suites.

Project

Technical and aesthetic update. The renovation project concerns the entire building, which is in a relatively advanced state of disrepair. Not only lack of maintenance, but also successive transformations over the years had made it virtually impossible to maintain and operate the building to current standards.

These findings led to a complete overhaul, based on the spirit of the “Palaces 1900”, revisited and developed with contemporary means and materials. The operation involved completely “undressing” the building, transforming and renovating it.

A totally new look, certainly inspired by the original spirit, was designed and realized under the direction of French interior architect Pierre-Yves Rochon, who specializes in hotel design and luxury decoration, and is already responsible for the recent renovation of the Hôtel des Bergues in Geneva.

Under the direction of the general planner, the structural and technical work was carried out by local and regional companies. A specialist company in the Venice region was commissioned to carry out the very specific interior design and decoration work required for this type of structure.

The kitchen, relocated from the basement to the first floor, is equipped with the most modern equipment, as is the entire building, whose technical installations meet the latest generation standards. Upstairs, a fitness room and relaxation area have been installed without detracting from the Belle Époque style and ambience. On the lake side, the garden has been remodeled, in parallel with the work undertaken on the building.

Completed in just twelve months, thanks to the efforts of a team of specialists brought together under the contract of the general planner, including architects and engineers of various specialties, the complex is now operating as a hotel establishment worthy of the best in the region.
